Is AutoMockup Desktop safe to install?
Yes — but Windows and macOS will likely show a warning the first time you open it, because it's independently-published software without an expensive code-signing certificate. Here's exactly what to expect and how to proceed.
Why does this happen?
Operating systems trust software signed with a paid certificate from a recognized publisher. Getting one costs several hundred dollars a year, which most small, independent tools — including this one — haven't taken on yet. The warning below is standard for unsigned software of any kind; it isn't a specific detection of anything wrong with this app.

On Windows
You'll likely see a blue "Windows protected your PC" screen from SmartScreen:
- Click "More info" (small text link, easy to miss)
- Click the "Run anyway" button that appears
- The app will open normally — this only happens on first launch
On Mac
macOS Gatekeeper may block the app from opening on the first try ("cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified"):
- Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security
- Scroll down — you'll see a message about AutoMockup Desktop being blocked
- Click "Open Anyway", then confirm in the dialog that appears
- This only needs to be done once
